I wrote that when?

Posted on January 11, 2019 Posted in 2019, blog, Tourette Syndrome .

There are so many things I want to write about, but alas there are only so many hours in the day and many of those are dedicated to being a mom, an adult, or squeezing in some sleep.

I just did a quick skim through some draft blog posts. Looking at them with fresh eyes, I honestly can’t understand why many are still in draft format and were never published.

No wait, that’s not completely true. I can guess WHY they were never published. Because something likely happened in the creative process where I felt like more detail or a photo was needed. I may have then become distracted and thought “I’ll finish this later” and then life happened.

I suspect there are a few different reasons why this happens and I won’t just try to blame it on a chronic case of procrastination.

Mommy Musing Monday – Fruzzins

Posted on September 30, 2013 Posted in 2013, Baby, Family, Miranda, Musing Monday, Ontario, Parenting, Tourette Syndrome, TSFC .

Last week Matt and I attended the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada’s national conference on TS+. We had a great time and gained lots of knowledge, bought some helpful books, and made some knew friends.

While we were there, Missy Moo stayed with her grandparents who are in Barrie. Nana M and Grandpa were thrilled to have her for a three-day sleepover. Three whole days with her on their own without Mommy and Daddy around. They were pretty excited about it and it gave us a chance to really dive into the conference and even get a couple nights of uninterrupted sleep!

#TSConference – Holland revisited

Posted on September 27, 2013 Posted in 2013, Ontario, Social Media, Tourette Syndrome, TSFC .

Last year I talked about a possible trip to Holland. But not the type of trip most people would expect.

It’s that time of year again and the Tourette Sydrome Foundation of Canada’s national conference is happening in Mississauga, Ontario.

I’m happy to say that both Matt and I are attending thanks to the amazing generosity of Dan Pruitt who along with his wife Sheryl (Sherry) are like another set of parents to me. This sort of thing can happen when you stay in touch with so many great people who are connected to TS; they become an extended family.

Surrender Your Say for @TSFCanada

Posted on June 18, 2013 Posted in 2013, Social Media, Tourette Syndrome, TSFC, Twitter .

Have you ever had an itch that you just couldn’t scratch? Something that started off very small and you just tired to ignore it. But the more you ignored it, the worse the itch became. It just stayed and stayed and got worse and worse. Creeping out until the itch was much bigger than it originally started. And then, even though you couldn’t really scratch it properly, you couldn’t wait any longer and just had to try and relieve the feeling?

Well that’s what it can sometimes feel like for someone who has Tourette Syndrome (TS) and they’re trying to hold back a tic. I’m speaking from personal experience here. Everyone has different tics and they can range from something as simple as wanting to touch a door four times, wanting to wiggle your nose, or needing to yell out a word or phrase.

Trekking for one important reason

Posted on March 21, 2013 Posted in 2013, Baby, Family, Fundraising, Miranda, Tourette Syndrome .

Trek 2013The Trek for Tourette is coming up on Sunday. I’m pretty behind in my fundraising, but given the fact that I gave birth to our beautiful little girl, I’m going to give myself a break and be pleased with any support I do help raise.

Why am I trekking on Sunday? I’ll tell you why. There’s one big important reason…
