Last week Matt and I attended the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada’s national conference on TS+. We had a great time and gained lots of knowledge, bought some helpful books, and made some knew friends.
While we were there, Missy Moo stayed with her grandparents who are in Barrie. Nana M and Grandpa were thrilled to have her for a three-day sleepover. Three whole days with her on their own without Mommy and Daddy around. They were pretty excited about it and it gave us a chance to really dive into the conference and even get a couple nights of uninterrupted sleep!
I’ll confess that on Thursday, the first full day without her, it was a little rough for me. I had some panicked moments and while I knew it was really silly, I couldn’t help myself.
She was of course fine the entire time. It wasn’t a lack of confidence in my inlaws, but my crazy mommy emotions getting the best of me.
What’s really great, is that little miss was able to spend some time with one of her cousins. Matt’s sister has a little one who’s 17.5 months old. She’s a sweetheart and has grown so much since we last saw her in April.
Missy Moo and Lady Em had a fabulous time together and it was really nice to see them playing and interacting.
Even with lots of geographical distance between them, I really hope they can be fruzzins (cousins who are friends because they love spending time with each other) as time goes on. It’s going to be interesting to see how much they’ve both grown when we’re all together again in December!
I remember the first time leaving Brooke was so hard as well, the sleep was great though
