Click.Those special moments

My camera and I have a very sordid relationship. I love it very much, but it doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. Then when it receives lots love from me, I don’t know what to do with all of the photos I’ve taken.

I’m OCD likes to take over when I’m processing photos. I bought a copy of Lightroom back in 2011 and it was a mixed blessing. I have lots of great tools and editing magic at my finger tips, but it’s easy to get hung up on needing every photo to be perfect. I struggle with that, but am working through it. I also have a very hard time deleting photos, and there’s a good reason for that…

But there are those moments where you and your camera are in sync. There’s something about the lighting, the composition and the timing. It’s like the universe comes together and says, “Quick, take a photo. Now! Click! Wow!” And you’re so happy you did.

Canadian Dance Moves [Video]

While I love sharing and posting videos, comics and interesting links on Facebook and Twitter, eventually those links get lost in your news feed and updates. I think I need to share some finds that I really enjoy here so that I can find them later for future LOL’s.

Cherry Cheese Cake Callenge

Last weekend, I decided to try my hand at making a cheese cake for the first time.

It was Matt’s birthday recently and his mother always makes a cheese cake for special occasions; especially birthdays. But because we’re in Newfoundland and Labrador and his parents are in Ontario, it’s unlikely a cheese cake would have made it in once piece by Canada Post. I emailed my mom-in-law and told her about my plan: I wanted to make Matt a cherry cheese cake and needed her recipe.

New Year, New Inspirations

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2011. I hope everyone arrived in one piece and that you’re all looking forward to a great year ahead.

I’m in desperate need of an update here. Perhaps later, but for now all I can say is that the holiday break has been very good to Matt and I. We’re enjoying our time in Ontario and will fly back home in a few days.

I was at the Eaton Centre with Matt, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law yesterday and saw this inscription in a washroom stall. I thought it was cute and something nice to share.

So here’s to another 365 days and if you start to feel a little blue, remember this advice I found by chance.

Gone Fishing

While walking home last week, I saw this sign up at a local restaurant. It was so cute and endearing that I had to take a picture if it.

I’m today’s world, it’s not very often you see a business close up shop for a actual vacation. Far too many of us work day and night, Monday to Friday – barely able to function, let alone recuperate on the weekend… Only to do it all again on Monday.

It made me smile to see this sign. So what are you doing right now? Gone fishing? If not, any special summer or vacation plans.
