Yesterday I saw a post where someone was asking about breakfast ideas on one of the Facebook groups where I’m a member. Some of the suggestions were the usual peanut butter on toast with banana, which is a regular staple for me. But then I saw someone mention they wanted to get a breakfast sandwich machine…
Wait, what?!?!
Yes, you too can be lazy (or a time management keener as I like to see it) and have a breakfast sandwich made in just five minutes instead of waiting a terribly long 10 minutes (or however long it takes you to cook an egg and assemble a sandwich.
After a quick Google search, I discovered that Hamilton Beach has a sandwich maker that’s not costly and I found some decent YouTube reviews (who has time to read when you can just watch or listen to a review and see the magic happen). Further Google searching allowed me to discover that Wal-Mart carries this mythical invention and they even had stock available in the greater St. John’s location!
Alright, you say. Big deal. It’s just a glorified set of hot metal plates, right? No actually, you’re wrong. Last night I bought one of these sandwich makers and decided that this morning would be its big debut.
This magical invention made my breakfast super fast and took very little effort.
I have decided that what I made is not in fact a breakfast sandwich, it is in fact a breakfast sammich!
See for yourself!
The sammich’s deliciousness potential is endless. I want to try using pre-cooked bacon strips at some point or even start with fresh bacon bits that we already have in the fridge.
On an unrelated note, today is my birthday (I used my birthday as an excuse to buy the sammich maker, so I guess this is still somewhat related).
It’s amazing how connected our lives can be online. I went to Google a link for this post and what I saw was that the Google Doodle was looking rather celebratory.
I first thought, “Geez, what famous person is this doodle about? The inventor of cake?” When I moused over the image, all of my questions were answered…
