For many knitters, we reach different times of the year when we realize, “Oh crap. It’s September already! Christmas/the holidays are only a few months away! I have to get knitting!” That’s normally the case for me. But with spring here (by definition only and not by example of the weather we’re currently having!), I’m itching to get back to my knitting again.
Since before going to Taiwan last year, I haven’t picked up two sticks and string to create something out of magic (or as Matt often says, it’s witchcraft). I did do some knitting for Christmas, but even that was limited to a couple of people.
I have a number of projects that are “on the needles” and have yet to be completed (including half finished socks for my dad!). My poor Ravelry account hasn’t been updated in ages. That’s on my on-going to-do list for this hobby. Maybe once Miranda and I get settled into a routine I’ll be able to knit more.
This is an older picture of the baby blanket I want to finish for Miranda. I was getting so close to finishing it before she was born, but then I found an error around 30+ rows down and I couldn’t let it go; I had to fix it. I was hoping I could pick down to the mistake, but alas, it wasn’t really possible. So I’m left with a bunch of rows half ripped out and feeling the daunting task of having to redo so much progress. Ah well, it’ll be worth it in the end.
So what are you working on these days? Any crafty projects that are inspiring your creative side? Or is there something you’re dying to start, but just need that extra push?
