Well this is something that’s been the works for a couple of months, but Matt and I are officially homeowners!
While it didn’t take long to find our home once the house hunting started, it feels as if it’s been a long time coming. After four years of living in a small one bedroom apartment in Toronto and living in a rather tiny room in a friend’s house, having our own home is amazing.
We have almost four times more space than our previous apartment and we’re already making plans for the different rooms and the endless options available. There are so many things that have lived in boxes for years that will finally see the light of day.
It’s going to take some time to unpack and organize our new home, but I suspect it’s going to be a lot of fun too. :)
Congratulations! Deciding how to organize your home (and noticing how very different that might be from the previous owners) is great fun.
We played around with the purposes of rooms for our new house – making what was once a work out and tv watching room into a mini “in law apartment” and turning a bedroom into a den. It works perfectly for our lifestyle and expectations of our home.
Many happy days of organizing and decorating!
It will take a lot of time to straighten things out. Aidan and I are still moving things around and changing things here and there. But guess what? We can, cause it’s ours! And that is what makes owning your own place so much fun. I know you and Matt will have your ups and downs ( shoveling) but that is all part of the fun and what makes life exciting. I am so happy for you both and can’t wait to see the place sometime in the spring I hope.
