I’ve often found some interesting finds at Canadian Tire (I know, it’s weird, but true!). Last weekend Matt and I went to Zellers to pick up a few things and what did we find after walking through the doors at the Stavanger Drive location but a mecca of cheap DVDs.

Oh the trouble we found ourselves in…

You probably should know that we’re guilty of buying some pretty terrible movies. If it’s something that Jackie Chan was in and it’s 40 years old and dubbed, we might own it… no offence to the great Jackie, but most great actors have been in at least a few terrible flicks before they make it big.

Moving on…

We found some really horrid finds early on:

Wow! Season 1 AND 2?! ZOMG!

Even at $1, it was too rich for our blood. The return on investment (ROI) based on the time we’d waste taking it out of the package and not getting through a whole episode had us leave it behind. BTW, they had season three there too…

Up next:

The 80s called. They want your hair back.

This. This just left me speechless. The photography. The style. The whole look and feel of the DVD’s marketing… I just can’t even go there. Now don’t get me wrong. I fully support exercise and working out when pregnant. I fully plan to be as active as possible when the time comes and I have a bun in the oven… it’s more the fact that this DVD was mixed in with a bunch of random kids’ movies and the fact that it looks like it’s at least 25 years old that it broke my brain a little.

We did walk away with a few DVDs and some were even over a dollar. We have Kill Bill Vol. 1, so it was mandatory to get the second movie for only $6.99.

Sooooo many bad movies/TV shows!

Oh and you know what’s awesome? That Matt and I watched a lot of the same kids cartoons growing up. Ok so maybe he didn’t watch My Little Ponies, but I was all over Transformers, He-man and SheRa.

We found this treasure and did a high-five in the middle of the store. It was a total geeking out moment. I regret nothing.

Bravestarr!!!!!

Yes. We found Bravestarr. Do you remember this show? It was SO BAD!! Bravestarr is described as an American space western. I would be inclined to describe it as, a questionable and rather politically incorrect space cowboy cartoon that has a mecha sentient cyborg horse. And BTW, Thirty Thirty is frickin’ awesome. Best upgraded horse EVER. He should have gotten a spinoff show…

On an unrelated note, did you know that there’s a Bravestarr Wiki? I’m as gobsmacked as you are. So much time-wasting on the horizon.

OK now it’s your turn. What the worst movie or TV show you own? I haven’t even gotten into the really nitty gritty of what we have in our shameful collection.
