The Tely 10<\/a> is on Sunday.\"Tely<\/a>
\nLast year I ran the Tely<\/a> and did much better than I expected; especially since I was eight weeks pregnant at the time!<\/p>\n

Even before giving birth to Missy Moo, I had already decided that I would run the 10 miles\/16 kilometers from Paradise, through Mount Pearl and into the east end\/central part of St. John’s.<\/p>\n

Ideally, I would have been running multiple times a week, but with a baby that’s just now five months old and weather that’s rather unpredictable, I haven’t been able to run as much as I’d like.<\/p>\n

This cartoon was in the Saturday’s edition of The Telegram, our local paper for the metro area and boy did it hit home for me. Ha ha.<\/p>\n

Now I’m staying cautiously optimistic. I can do this. I know I can. To beat last year’s race time of 1:53:39 would be amazing, but I won’t be completely crushed if I don’t. Just running it again this year is a big win in my books.<\/p>\n

In the last year and a half I’ve had a lot of life experiences that have only made me stronger. From surviving my month in Taiwan to giving birth to my first child, I think I’m a different person than before any of this started. I’ll just use some of these experiences to motivate me to never give up on goals I have (including running the Tely on Sunday).<\/p>\n

Last year<\/a> Bobble-head Ted and I ran together<\/a> for the race<\/a> (truth be told, he didn’t train much and I had to do most of the work, but that’s OK). He’s been rather quiet online lately and has expressed an interest in sitting out the Tely this year. Maybe next year he’ll return as my running partner.<\/p>\n

So if you’re running in this year’s Tely, let me know! And if you’re going to be one of the many awesome people watching and cheering on the runners and walkers, please yell a little extra loud this year because it looks like it may be rather humid day and we’ll need all the motivation we can get!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
