It seems more than fitting that Matt’s first Father’s Day also falls on Captain Picard Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anyone who knows my husband is aware of his encyclopedic memory when it comes to all things Star Trek (and that’s including all of the various series within the franchise). He can watch the opening scene for any episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation and within seconds, can tell you in detail what the episode is about (and often knows the actual title of the episode!).<\/p>\n

Happy Captain Picard Day!*<\/p><\/div>\n

Now he’s not alone in his love of Star Trek. I too am a huge fan. In fact, we’ve had more than one heated debate about all sorts of obscure topics from Worf’s Klingon baggage, Riker’s beard, Geordi’s failed love life, to potential courses Captain Picard would teach at Starfleet Academy.<\/p>\n

Yes… we’re nerdy and proud.<\/p>\n

So today we will be drinking – Tea. Earl Grey. Hot. And no doubt discussing the many great traits of what we both consider to be the best Starfleet captain.<\/p>\n
