I received this email today. Some might think it looks legit, but it&#8217;s really not.<\/p>\n<p>The email says you&#8217;ve won an iPad2 and you need to type into your browser, the address <strong>mygmailgifts.com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>One major tip off is that the email below arrived as just that, an image (jpeg) file.<\/p>\n<p>I searched online (through Google no less) and <a title=\"Email scam\" href=\"http:\/\/productforums.google.com\/forum\/#!topic\/gmail\/F8K__CUj9UA\" target=\"_blank\">found<\/a> some <a title=\"Email scammer\" href=\"http:\/\/tarartrat.blogspot.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">links<\/a>\u00a0saying it is indeed phishing.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Email Scam by Virginia_Middleton, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/vmiddleton\/8032599719\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8322\/8032599719_3233ea5c15_c.jpg\" alt=\"Email Scam\" width=\"572\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Props to the scammers for using the Google logo, the TRUSTe logo and trying to sound legit.<\/p>\n<p>But really&#8230; would Google team up with Apple for a give away? Why give away iPad2 as a prize? Google has enough Android tablet partners out there. Think about it. The logic, it is definitely lacking.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remember, if it&#8217;s too good to be true, it probably is.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please share with anyone you know who has a Gmail account.
