KNITTING<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I started knitting in the summer of 2007. I was in between jobs and a friend offered to come over for the afternoon and get me started with casting on and learning the basic knit stitch. Since then, I’ve continued to love knitting. I’ve taken classes, tried new things and am always wishing there were more hours in the day available to knitting.<\/p>\n

Like a lot of knitters, I’m on Ravelry<\/a>. Have you discovered the wonderful social media world of Ravelry? If not, come check it out! There are lots of great patterns to find, people to meet, and projects to share.<\/p>\n

RUNNING<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I think I’ve always been a runner, but just didn’t know it until a few years ago. When in school, I enjoyed running around the track. I loved playing soccer and playing midfield because it meant you could run all over the field, depending on the play and what was happening. Even in high school when we would go eat lunch at Mundy Pond (because we had a car and getting away from school property was very liberating), I’d take a few minutes to run around the pond before we headed back to class (and I always forgot how darn big that pond was and usually panted my way back to class).<\/p>\n

When I moved to Toronto, I didn’t really have time to join a gym. But I did find that I like to run through the streets of Forrest Hill in Toronto’s nice mid-town neighbourhood. I also started walking to and from work in the summertime, which resulted in 40 minutes each way (and around 9.5 km in total).<\/p>\n

I’ve taken the 5k running class at the Running Room and have ran the Resolution Run twice. I’ve participated in a few different charity walks and will no doubt sign up for many more.<\/p>\n

Someday I really want to do the Tely 10. I’m serious. It’s going to happen some day!<\/p>\n

PHOTOGRAPHY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In 2008, my very awesome husband<\/a> gave me a Canon DSLR XTi. Since then, I’ve been adding lenses and camera gear to my collection. I’m very much an amauter photographer and am always looking for tips and suggestions on how to make my photos better.<\/p>\n

There are FAR TOO MANY photos on various computers right now and not nearly enough that are processed or posted online. While I do share some photos on Facebook, the majority of what’s out there on the web is found in my Flickr account<\/a>.<\/p>\n
