Alright, so it’s time for an update regarding my previous post with goals for 2012.
I’m testing out my new iPad keyboard/case and am using the Blogsy app to do this update. Ideally, I want to bring just my iPad to Taiwan and Japan instead of dragging a laptop. But I really don’t think my sanity will survive six weeks of using a touch screen keyboard, so I’ve been exploring options.
The Quxii keyboard is pretty good, but I’m not thrilled that it seems to disconnect from the bluetooth connection easily if not in constant use.
I’m also finding Blogsy to be very limiting in what it can do, but one feature I’m liking is that I can connect my Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/vmiddleton) and drag and drop photos with easy.
I do really miss being able to embed website addresses and have them tagged to words instead of geing all http://www…, but for now this will have to do.
Back to the goals for 2012…
Update my blog at least once a month
So far so good as this update is happening in January. I have a few drafts that haven’t been touched in a while and there are a few more potential blog entries swimming around my head. It’s just a matter of time before they come to life.
Read at least six professonal books
This goal has been a little trickier because my life has been consumed with the final training weekend for the Rotary International Group Study Exchange that happened last week. I’m also reading The Day the World Came to Town because we talk about 9/11 in our GSE presentation we’re doing while in Taiwan.
But good news! I’ve started reading Twitterville by Shel Israel (http://www.twitter.com/shelisrael). I’m only on page 25, but it’s great so far. More updates to come.
Go to the gym more than twice a month
I know, I know, this goal is pretty lame and definintely in the low hanging fruit category, but I’m happy to say that I’ve been to the gym twice this week and am definitely feeling the results (read: the bitter truth that I’ve been away from The Works for too many months).
Tuesday was my regular night at the gym and yesterday I went with a coworker to a body bar class during lunch. Body bar was great and I’m planning to make it a regular thing.
Clean out my sock drawer
Um, yeah… that one hasn’t worked out so well. In fact, I think my sock drawer has gotten worse and is starting to takeover our bedroom…
Have you made any goals for 2012? How are they doing?
If you’re not one for making resolutions/goals, what’s something you’ve accomplished in the New Year that you’d like to brag about?
